Who I Am
I am a mother, a poet, an avid learner, and a health enthusiast. I’ve spent many years writing and creating blogs. In September 2016, I self-published my first book. Despite my doing that, I still wasn’t as satisfied with myself as I wanted to be. I had my ups and downs with fitness but never stuck with anything for longer than a few weeks. In October 2017, I officially decided that it was time for me to make some changes concerning my fitness. Low self-esteem as far as my physical appearance hasn’t been an issue for me since I was a teenager, but my health was starting to suffer.
I took baby steps for a couple of months by counting my steps and trying to increase my overall count before I took a huge leap by joining a boot camp. As a result of making it through the first four weeks, I continued. Eventually, I fell in like with spinning, fell in love with pole dancing/Sexify, and have developed a very meaningful relationship with yoga.
As of January 2019, I have lost 30lbs and 11.5” off my body. Overall, the goal isn’t weight loss for me. My overall goal is functionality and health. Weight loss is just the byproduct. Now I want to share everything I know and everything that I will learn about health and fitness in this blog and in person whenever I can.
I am a certified group fitness instructor and am working towards a personal trainer certification, certificate in Advanced Nutrition, and certificates in various specialties.
