The Progress I Have Made

I originally shared this on my social media accounts. As a matter of fact, I have shared the majority of my fitness progress on Instagram, but I've finally decided to move forward with blogging all of it. From February 2018 to June 2018 I lost around 10lbs, a ton of body fat and gained some muscle. You may not be able to tell the difference, but I can. I probably would've lost more by now if I could stay away from ice cream and cookies. I was already pretty bad about staring at myself in the mirror (I guess that's where my daughter gets it from), but now I really can't stay away from it. More than how I look, I'm enjoying how I feel. I've lost inches everywhere except my arms. My arms have actually grown about an inch, my biceps are getting ridiculous💪. It feels good to feel good, which is why I started exercising.

Now it is September 15 and I have since lost an additional 10lbs. I don't have a goal weight. My weight isn't my biggest concern and it isn't what I have in mind while I'm exercising. I just want to be at my best. Move like I mean it. Move like it matters.

Ways I Increased My Energy

I only recommend products I have personally had a positive experience with. Purchasing any of the products mentioned is completely optional. There was a time when I could hardly make it through the day without almost involuntarily falling asleep. I’d wake up morning tired and by 3 PM I'd to pull my car over into a parking lot somewhere, put the sunshade in the windshield, recline the driver seat, and set my alarm to wake me up in thirty minutes. Aside from the fact that I wasn’t and still don't always get the recommended 8 hours of sleep every night, a major player in my lack of energy was due to my weight. I still have some pounds to lose but shedding thirty made a difference. Work and motherhood are enough to tire anyone out, but I couldn’t keep functioning that way. I had to make some changes before I could...

Dollar Tree B.Pure Vulva Cream Review

I was browsing my local Dollar Tree after I had already picked up what was on my very short list. I like to see what's available and then try to resist the urge to buy it. Since Dollar Tree increased their prices from $1 to $1.25, the overall quality of the products they carry has seemed to improve. I'm still hoping they go back to $1, though. I saw this B.pure Calming Vulva Cream in the store and it piqued my interest. (This review IS NOT sponsored.) Back Story You can skip ahead if you want to get straight to the review. I wanted to share a little back story in case it helps anybody in any way, even if it is to only bring some level of comfort to the person who thinks it is weird or shameful to occasionally itch in private places.  Moment of transparency: sometimes my vulva itches. Last I checked, I don’t have any STDs or STIs. I take a probiotic daily and drink lots of water. I’ve never experienced itching or supersensitivity on my vulva before no matter what type of fabr...

Can We Really Overcome Trauma?

I recently posted an essay to my main blog, Life in a Few Words  that I feel also fits in with the theme of this blog. Here's a snippet of it: Trigger Warning: There is some discussion of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and depression in this article .  The views expressed here are my own. Recently, I watched some  videos on YouTube  about the DeBarge family. Several of the family members had some success as the musical group  DeBarge  in the 1980s. I have seen other documentaries and read articles about the history of this family, but this telling of the DeBarges’ story sat with me different. The YouTuber I watched is a good storyteller, but even if she had been terrible, the Debarge story is sensational enough to have had the same effect. In short, the children suffered unthinkable abuse at the hands of their father. Most of them grew up to become addicts, marry abusive partners, and even abuse each other.   Like many people, I u...
