Dollar Tree B.Pure Vulva Cream Review

I was browsing my local Dollar Tree after I had already picked up what was on my very short list. I like to see what's available and then try to resist the urge to buy it. Since Dollar Tree increased their prices from $1 to $1.25, the overall quality of the products they carry has seemed to improve. I'm still hoping they go back to $1, though. I saw this B.pure Calming Vulva Cream in the store and it piqued my interest. (This review IS NOT sponsored.)

Back Story

You can skip ahead if you want to get straight to the review. I wanted to share a little back story in case it helps anybody in any way, even if it is to only bring some level of comfort to the person who thinks it is weird or shameful to occasionally itch in private places.

Moment of transparency: sometimes my vulva itches. Last I checked, I don’t have any STDs or STIs. I take a probiotic daily and drink lots of water. I’ve never experienced itching or supersensitivity on my vulva before no matter what type of fabric I’ve worn, detergent I’ve used, or soap I’ve washed with. I generally try not to get too adventurous with the products I use for my feminine area in order to avoid things like this, so I don’t use any of those washes or sprays. I use a gentle soap and some water. Itching can be caused by a plethora of reasons, including hormonal changes. The fact that I'm a plus size girl and I'm prone to having a little sweat "down there" doesn't help either.

It has been a practice of mine for over a decade at this point to put some type of lotion or ointment like Aquaphor in the creases between the thighs and my lady parts for the purpose of chafing, but I've never put anything directly on my vulva until recently. I tried aquaphor once or twice and it seemed to help. Really, it takes a consistent practice of it for it to be the most effective.

Product Review

The ingredients of this product from B.pure seem legit. All natural oils including coca butter, coconut oil, lavender oil, and peppermint oil. To my nose, it smells more like peppermint oil than anything else, but it isn't overwhelming. I think it smells clean and pleasant.

I was skeptical at first just because it came from Dollar Tree and I try to be somewhat careful about what I use on my privates. However, I've used countless Dollar Tree products over the years and I'm alive to tell the story.

The first test I did was on the back of my hand. I realize that the skin on the back of the hand is not the same as the skin on the vulva, but I still wanted to see how my skin would react. The consistency of the product is gel-like, but it rubbed in like lotion. It didn't feel greasy or heavy at all. After a few minutes, it had absorbed into my skin completely.

The real test came after I had taken a shower that night. I applied less than a dime-sized amount of cream to my vulva, specifically the mons pubis, and went to bed without putting on any underwear. I was surprisingly pleased with the results! No itching at all. It shouldn’t have been so surprising because the ingredients seem trustworthy enough, but I never set the bar too high when I buy products from Dollar Tree despite the fact that I’ve been shopping there my entire life.

Considering the fact that this cream has peppermint oil in it, I expected it to be a bit more tingly, but it wasn’t for me, even with my skin down there being so sensitive recently. I’m sure that sensation varies from person to person though.

The next day, I didn’t have the urge to scratch myself at all, which was absolutely amazing. I had almost forgotten what it was like to be able to walk around normally without feeling the irritation down there. That’s one of those things that is easily and often taken for granted. I did reapply it after cleaning myself up from using the restroom, so I can’t say whether one application of it is supposed to last all day long.

I can’t speak for any long-term effects yet. For now, this stuff works. I haven’t experienced any signs of a yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, or anything else that’s questionable. I don’t actually use this cream on my labia or near or in my vaginal opening, just up top where the hair grows. I feel that with a couple more days of using this product, my skin will finally have a chance to heal from my scratching it all the time. I'm really glad I gave this cream a chance.

All in all, I’d rate this product 9/10.

How I Overcome Gym Intimidation

I t’s still hard sometimes. As a matter of fact, I’ve been meaning to visit a spin studio that I’ve never visited before. I booked a spot in class through ClassPass * then canceled my reservation the day before because I was a little intimidated. However, I’m proud to say that I have made a lot of progress in overcoming my fear of group fitness classes and unfamiliar gyms. Let me explain. Gym intimidation is real. As a matter of fact, any place where you feel out of place makes you not want to go to that place at all. Pin for later! I began my fitness journey at home. In past years I always worked out at home. Or maybe I went walking around the neighborhood. I had exercise DVDs. When I lived in an apartment complex with an onsite gym, I visited that gym once. I didn’t see the gym as a fun place and I was not motivated to continue going. I felt like I did best when I took walks and followed the DVDs in my living room. As much as I enjoyed how I fel

Ways I Increased My Energy

*This post contains affiliate links. This means that if you choose to purchase any of the products I link to I may receive a small commission. I only recommend products I have personally had a positive experience with. Purchasing any of the products mentioned is completely optional. There was a time when I could hardly make it through the day without almost involuntarily falling asleep. I’d wake up morning tired and by 3 PM I'd to pull my car over into a parking lot somewhere, put the sunshade in the windshield, recline the driver seat, and set my alarm to wake me up in thirty minutes. Aside from the fact that I wasn’t and still don't always get the recommended 8 hours of sleep every night, a major player in my lack of energy was due to my weight. I still have some pounds to lose but shedding thirty made a difference. Work and motherhood are enough to tire anyone out, but I couldn’t keep functioning that way. I had to make some changes before I could

Mindful Eating: Forgiving Extra Calories

Weight loss isn’t easy. I think most people who have tried to lose weight would agree with that statement. It is a simple process for most, but not easy. There aren’t any specials tricks necessary for most people. Eat fewer calories than you burn and you’ll lose weight eventually. However, with so much conflicting information that exists and all of the marketing tactics and fads to get you to buy the next big trend, many people have no clue where to start or why they even want to start. Personal Health Goals I don’t have a weight loss goal. My goal is good health and as a result of becoming healthier, I have shed 25-30lbs depending on what time of the month it is. There was a time in my life in my teens where I used to be concerned with the number. I weighed more than most people, but I carried it well enough that no one believed me when I told them my size. At some point, I shed that mentality and decided that I wanted to pursue health and just feel good. I let go of the
